Under
Attack
Freedom
was under attack today,
An act of terrorism on display.
The date in history is nine, one, one,
When fire and smoke blocked out the sun.
Commercial airliners with fuel, fully loaded,
Flew into the World Trade Center towers, and
exploded.
The shock of the people, as they stared in awe,
While they watched the buildings crumble and
fall.
How could this happen in our great land?
We stare in disbelief; we don't understand.
In our Nation's Capital, the Pentagon is hit,
By another hijacked airliner crashing into it.
Fire and smoke, and sirens screaming,
Please let me wake up, I have to be dreaming.
These things don't happen in the U.S.A.
Only in countries far away.
Then the news reports another hijacked plane,
Crashed outside of Pittsburgh, it's totally
insane.
The devastation is beyond compare,
With carnage, and bodies strewn everywhere.
Our government orders to ground all flights,
And seals our borders up real tight.
The rescue efforts are still under way,
America's innocence ended today.
Terrorism struck at America's heart,
But we'll overcome, this can't tear us apart.
Buildings can fall, and buildings can burn,
But striking terrorists soon will learn.
That freedom is precious, and we know we are
blest.
To live each day where it's put to the test.
To be able to stand for what we believe,
To speak out in protest, to pray, or to grieve.
So God Bless us all as we meet the test,
The world will see America's best.
We will prevail, there is no doubt.
So pray for each other, that's what it's about.

The LORD is my light and my salvation -
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life -
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,
When my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
Though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
Psalm of David 27:1-3
