The Rose

The Lord gave me a rose one day,
   A rose so beautiful and rare.
He placed it in my garden,
   Waiting for my tender care.

A peaceful feeling filled my soul,
   As the lovely fragrance grew.
Then I heard Him softly whisper,
   "This is like my love for you."
