Story of My Life

I think it's kind of sad,
I think it really stinks.
I'm stuck here in this wheelchair,
I'm glued into this seat.

I feel as if I don't fit in,
I don't think I'll ever win.
I'm caught in a box, and someone's thrown away the key.
Won't anyone listen to me?

I would be happy and not really sad,
I'm sick of always being mad.
I want to surprise my parents,
I want to walk to them and say;
Thanks for all you've done for me
Today and everyday.

This poem is dedicated to all people, those with and without disabilities
who feel trapped by something in life that keeps them from feeling like they
can progress and find success.  It is written by a beautiful young woman who
has found a way to overcome her disability through writing.
