My Love Is Always Near

He sat there on the beach
Unseeing... out onto the ocean
Looking inside the wedding ring
He read the delicate etching
"With all my love and devotion."
Were the words he read
Wishing somehow, it could have been him instead
For he felt a pain so deep inside
He would wish upon no other
Shouting to the sky, he said,
"Dear God, Why not take me?
She was all I ever wished for,
My heart had ever dreamed."
Then his tears would start to flow
Into the ocean they would go
He sat there till the sun went down
As he wrote her name upon the ground
He fell into a deep slumber
There in a dream, he would always remember
She came to him in a moment
To him it seemed like a year
As she stood in front of him
Laying her hands upon his heart
She said, "I will always be right here with you,
My love is always near,
So go back home my Dearest
Our love is waiting there."
Then he awoke, as he looked all around
Dusting off the sand as it sprinkled to the ground
Heading to their house, just upon the cliff
Remembering their cherished moments
A time of joyfulness
Of days splashing amid the waves
Enjoying the sun and its warm embrace
Building castles in the sand
Walking together, always hand in hand
He opened the door and ran up the stairs
Standing in the hallway, admiring the child so fair
Noticing how she looked just like her mother
With her golden locks of hair
He knelt down beside the bed
As he gently kissed her on the head
Whispering these words so sweet and true,
"I will always be here just for you,
Never will you need to fear
Because my dear sweet little child
My love is always near."
Then as he turned to leave the room
He said, "Thank you God, for everything
Even through the trials I must endure
Your love is always with me
This I know for sure."
