The Lady In Waiting
 

Rocky hillside, peaceful vale, have long time been a place

In which a Lady has appeared, in splendor, love and grace.

From churches small and silent, to mountains high and cold,

She comes enrobed in majesty, in hues, and white and gold.

The mantle and its roses, in diverse colors bright,

The novice sees a Lady adorned in stars of light.

The running streams of water, faith does their healing bring,

These vessels given to humankind, in reverence for its King.

Who is she then, this Lady, the one whom God has called,

To witness to the human soul His message from of old?

To change our ways, be free from sin, and live the life He chose,

Through centuries she comes to earth, these tidings to bestow.

She is the Lady in Waiting, the Mother of the Most High,

Who waits upon the Will of God, in Whom her will abides.

She is the Lady in Waiting, who waits with us below,

And leads us to the One she bore, the One who loves us so.

Yet as she comes to see us, the children of the Lord,

Please join with her in reverence, and pray in one accord.

That we may always be worthy of God’s saving Sacrifice,

And give thanks to the Lady in Waiting,

The Mother of Jesus Christ.
