TO MY GRAND-DAUGHTER

When I first learned of your existence in my daughter’s womb, my heart leaped with joy! For up until then, my life had been meaningless; going through my days in a robot-like fashion, nothing exciting me, caring for no one - not even myself, being dispassionate about others and going through life passive about my surroundings.
 

But when I found out about you, my life became full of energy, enthusiasm and happiness, which was nothing compared to what I felt on the day of your arrival into this world!
 

You are the life in me. My life has meaning now, where before I didn’t care if I lived or died, loved or was loved. Now I want to spread love and happiness wherever I go, because you fill my life with it.
 

GOD knew where I was in life
and so he blessed me with you.
 

Now every day I thank the good Lord for you. Every day when I think about you it brings a smile to my face and a sparkle to my eye. When I see you smile at me it fills my heart with such joy that I think I’m going to burst from it!
 

You are in my eyes and in my heart the most beautiful baby I have ever seen, because I see you with my heart and soul, not my eyes only.


I LOVE YOU, GRAND-DAUGHTER OF MINE.


And every day I will thank GOD for you.
Some days later in life you might make me cry,
but I would rather go through life feeling joy, happiness, sadness, disappointment and 
whatever other feelings your love might 
instill in me than to go back to feeling. . . nothing.
