A
Grandma's Christmas Wish
I'm just a soul that feels a loss
For someone close to me
May I please ask You for Your help
I'm asking this of Thee
You see, Dear God, not long ago
Although, I'm sure you know
My three grandsons lost their daddy
Their mother's tears still flow
The baby, just one year, last month
The middle boy is three
And the oldest son, now is six
They're precious as can be
The baby doesn't know what's wrong
He senses so much pain
He will never know his daddy
Though his love will remain
The three-year-old just wanders 'round
"I'm looking for my Daddy!"
It pulls my heart and grabs my soul
To see this darling laddie
At six years old, he's quite mature
The eldest of the three...
He gently hugs the youngest two
"Come here, come sit with me."
This Christmas...will be very hard
For laughter to reign free
Oh, please, Dear God, bring them some joy
Amidst their lonely Christmas tree
They know, on Christmas, You were born
Beneath the star so bright
I also ask You to grant them peace
With blessings of delight
Just two more things, if I may beg?
"Peace for the parents of the dad
And may the mother's eyes behold
Smiling faces, not so sad."
Thank You, Dear God,
Amen
