A precious friend like you
can never be replaced;
The joy we've shared together . . .
the sad times we have faced.

You let me know that it's all right
to cry when I'm not strong.
You understand my feelings well,
sometimes you cry along.

You always urge me forward;
never do you fail
to listen, as my dreams unfold,
encouraged, I set sail.

Then off I go in a new pursuit,
it's then I realize:
On life's majestic tapestry,
friends are the grandest prize.
