At The Foot of Calvary

Like a whisper in the wind
His voice so calm and sweet,
When He called me that day
To come to Calvary.

Hastening to His beckoning
Upon the rocks I fell.
His gentle hands lifted me
To see the place He knew so well.

With trembling hands I held
The rocks stained crimson red.
I knew this to be the Blood
His Precious Son has shed.

He smiled so gently as
He held out His hands.
Tears flowed like rivers
At the nails in the sand.

Touching the Cross of rustic wood
My heart was torn apart.
For here my Savior died for me;
My sins forgiven, set free my heart.

I heard my Lord
Softly calling me
Come home, my child,
Come now to Calvary.
