Father
A Father's love is special
for, at times it's hard to see.
He holds a shield between the world
and precious family.
All who chance to meet him
know just behind his smile
lies power that turns to anger
should they threaten wife or child.
He gladly takes the blow that's meant
for anyone he loves.
The only one he bows down to
is sitting up above.
The small things make him happy. . .
a kind word or a kiss
from a special loved one
keeps him in heaven's bliss.
