THE LITTLE HOUSE
THAT HAD NO CHIMNEY

Inside, there was no Christmas tree;
no children there to play.
The little house, it had no chimney,
and tomorrow was Christmas day!
They had put in all the windows, doors,
and yes, a fireplace, too.
But alas, they had forgot the chimney!
What would Santa do?

Dark within, no lights aglow;
no cheery fire to warm the soul.
No happy greetings,
and no mistletoe.
No song of "Jingle Bells";
no "Ho, Ho, Ho".
On down the street
the carol singers go.

The little house that had no chimney,
soon began to cry.
"What shall I do? What shall I do?
I'm so lonesome. Why, why, oh why?"
An angel of the Lord overheard,
as she was passing by.
"Love the Lord and trust in Him;
look yonder in the sky."

'Twas like the story of Bethlehem,
a long, long time ago.
High above the little house,
a star began to glow.
Lo, there was Santa and his reindeer,
with a chimney on their sleigh!
The little house that had no chimney,
would have a MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY!
