HONOR OUR KING
I welcome you into my
home this Christmas; sit down, relax, and enjoy.
I want to remind you of a
story long ago, about a little boy.
He was born in a cave
outside Bethlehem town,
for there was no room at the Inn.
His sole purpose for
coming to earth was to save people from sin.
His birth was announced to the entire world in the form of a bright shining star.
It was seen by the
townspeople, the shepherds in the fields, and three wise men from afar.
The angels rejoiced and
proclaimed to the shepherds, "A King is born this day!
Do not fear, for He
brings you peace, and He's going to show you the way."
The wise men saw the new
star with a sense of awe, for they knew a great King had been born.
They traveled many days,
always following that star, to see the babe who had arrived that Christmas morn.
They brought Him special
gifts, only fit for a King, and presented them to where He lay;
In a cave, surrounded by
animals, in a manger, filled with hay.
One wise man brought
gold, the finest metal ever known
And through this
special gift, his love was clearly shown.
Another brought
Frankincense, symbolizing holiness, to the Christ Child.
The sweet burning
incense, was so tender and mild.
The third man brought
Myrrh, a rare spice, smelling so sweet;
And all three, lovingly
laid these gifts at Jesus' feet.
So, like the three
wise men, we are to honor our King
With our actions, our
words, and the songs that we sing.
During this Christmas
season I send special wishes to you.
In hopes that with
the hustle and bustle, Christ will shine through.
May each member of your
family be filled with laughter and love.
And for each and every
gift, may you thank your Father up above.
Through all the ribbons
and bows may you see Christ, His only Son;
The gift from God our
Father, which is to everyone.
The little babe, wrapped
in clothes, lying in a cave,
Whose only purpose on
earth is to teach and to save.
May your home be filled
with warmth, and your family with good cheer.
And may God continue to
bless you, all through the new year.
